Similar Objects Matching Game - Preschool and Kindergarten Matching Activity with Miniature Objects - early learning toylanguage materials

This Montessori learning activity focuses simply on the skill of matching miniature common objects. This activity is small enough to take with you and can be extended into pretend play with the mini objects. Styles: I have two different levels of difficulty. 1. Exact Match - This is the easier set that has two exact copies of each object. The objects are the same size and color so children just need to pair up the similar objects. 2. Similar Match - This set is more difficult because each object has a pair, but the pairs have a different attribute. The pair may be smaller, a different color, a different material, a different style etc. Each object has a similar match that requires more problem solving and critical thinking to find the pairs Matching Skill - Visual Discrimination: This activity focuses on more advanced preschool matching. The objects are not an exact copy of the photo so children need to carefully observe details to match correctly. Children problem solve by looking at distinctive attributes that they can see on both the objects. They may begin by looking at the shape or function of the object in order to match them correctly.They might ask themselves "which objects are tall and skinny?" or "which objects have holes?" Recognizing these little details helps a child grow their category knowledge and learn new vocabulary! What is Included: Similar Match Style - 15 Pairs - (30 miniature objects that are tiny, approx .25-2" long) What they are learning while having fun - Matching objects encourages one-to-one correspondence (basic math skill) and visual discrimination. - Observing and comparing small details to match correctly. Comparing involves identifying similarities and differences among objects - Children can group the figures by similar traits - this is sorting and classifying!
