- Can transmit and receive lighting scene commands with other UPB dimmers, UPB plug-in modules, UPB fixture modules and/or other devices – can control virtually any device that connects to AC power wiring anywhere in the home.
- To ensure a proper installation your home should be no more than 2500 square feet and have only one breaker panel. A phase coupler is required in some home installations. Not intended for use in multi-dwelling (condo, apartment, duplex) units.
These plug-in modules enable computer-based configuration and control of household lighting, appliances and other devices over the powerline using digital UPB commands. UPB devices can be freely located anywhere in the home. No additional wiring is required and no radio frequency signals are used. Module UMC receives and transmits UPB digital commands and converts these signals to a serial RS-232C interface format. This UMC-USB model is ideal for an installer configuring any UPB devices with a laptop personal computer using UPStart software, since it plugs in to the popular USB port. However, it is not recommended for connection of home automation controllers.
