A lot of your readers seem to relate to the character of Sammy on a deeper level. Was that the intention when you came up with the concept for Single Wide Female?

Both my co-author and myself have struggled with our weight. We understand what it feels like to have the negative talk going on in our headsâ€”how difficult it can be to push past that.

Our aim with all of our chick lit series is to inspire women through humor. We love that our readers connect to the deeper message that reminds us that we are meant to be living our lives to the fullest todayâ€”not waiting until a certain number appears on the scale or our lives are more perfect in some way.

Some of our favorite reviews and e-mails are ones in which readers let us know that theyâ€™ve been so inspired by Sammy that theyâ€™ve started their own bucket lists.
