In December 2012, 11 million people in the UK watched 'The Snowman And the Snow dog' for the first time on the 30th anniversary of the Raymond Briggs-penned classic. The Briggs-endorsed follow-up, created by many of the same team that first brought the much-loved original 'The Snowman' to life, came with a modern soundtrack by Ilan Eshkeri and Andy Burrows, which underpinned the tale to beautiful effect and went on to be nominated for a BAFTA. The film's single, 'Light the Night', written by Andy and Ilan and performed by Andy, features in the iconic flying sequence of 'The Snowman and the Snow dog', just as 'Walking in the Air' featured in the flying sequence of 'The Snowman' in 1982. Play listed on Radio 2 last Christmas, the track - specially remixed for radio this year - is sure to be a Christmas song staple over the coming years, like 'Walking in the Air' before it.
