Charmeuse is a light weight smooth silky fabric, it has a glossy reflective front. Charmeuse is often referred to as Satin, as Satin is commonly used to describe the texture of fabric (shiny, glossy, reflective, smooth, slippery). There are many different grades to Satin, Charmeuse being one of the lightest out of all the Satins. 100% polyester charmeuse is an inexpensive fabric which is cost efficient for any large projects. Charmeuse is extremely slippery, tends to cling and hang against the body. It is best suited for a more fluid, slinky bias cut. Charmeuse is used for lingerie, gowns, draped blouses, jackets, slacks, handkerchiefs, ties and much more! Many colors/styles/variations available!!
