This is not a standalone novel. I would highly suggest reading book 1, ‘Something to Hide,’ first. ‘Something to Hide’ is available on Amazon for .99!
“I know only too well that some scars never heal completely. They leave big gaping wounds. It’s these wounds that produce fear. Fear of loss. Fear of someone finding out your secrets. Fear of rejection. Fear of reliving the past - shit everyone has something to fear.”
In the past karma had been wreaking havoc on Sophie’s life but now it was just plain crushing it. She has yet another secret to protect and she intends on protecting this one with her life. Sophie is about to relive the worst part of her life and she knows it is going to cost her dearly. Will Sophie be able to fend off the ghosts from her past as well as Nicoli’s advances? Sophie is about to meet up with a piece of her past that she will welcome with an open arms.
Nicoli knew that getting Sophie back was going to be a challenge. He knew he would have to fight her past, his past and his father. What he didn’t expect to have to fight was another man, a man from Sophie’s past that could very well steal her heart.

This is the second installment to the Something Series.
In this installment we go back 15 years to learn of what happened to Sophie and how it made her into the woman she is today. Sophie was in an abusive relationship although she tried to end it she didn't feel she had any other options but Michael and ended up going back to him several times before moving on. Sophie is dealing with the new that the woman that murdered Michael is getting a new trial which means she'll be called to testify again. Dreading having to go through all of that again is just more stress added to what she already has from dealing with the fall out from her break with Nicoli. Sophie's best friend Jake and his friends come to offer her protection when she starts getting threats again from supporters of Michael. She ends up having to relocate because its gotten so bad. Sophie doesn't have much time to think on how her relationship with Nicoli ending or the secret she's keeping from everyone...
I read "something to hide" months ago and have been eagerly waiting for this next installment. With that said, I still had to go back and re-read (skim) the 1st book. This book began with "15 years earlier" and not where it ended in book one! This was VERY confusing and it confused me more when it mixed "now and then" information in that chapter. So it took me some time to really get going with this book. Once I got over being confused, this book took me on one heck of an emotional roller coaster! Nicoli loves Sophie so much that he is willing to do anything to bring them back together again. Sophie loves Nicoli without question but refuses to return to him because of his cruel words at the end of book one. Everytime they are close to reconciling.... Well you'll have to read to get that answer. ;) The grammar and spelling are better, however there remains many mistakes, but not to the point of major distraction. I would recommend this series to anyone...
The writing keeps getting better and better! Out of the two I've read, my favorite is this one. I loved that more characters' point of view were added to the story. I was hoping to read Liam's thoughts since his love for sophie rivals nicoli's depth of love. I wanted to find out more about Liam's life. He is Sophie's knight - a bright light in her past and in her time of need. As for nicoli, I loved his perseverance. The ending left in a cliffhanger and was a shocker. I can't wait for Something to Cherish!
