I must say I have enjoyed this one! Ever since I read Orwells 1984 I have been a fan of dystopian future. The author of this book has brought up to question some vivid arguments regarding our government. Seeing Trump as one of the president candidates I can very well picture the dystopian future the author pictured in this book...

Now to the book itself, the setting is a near future, the technological advancement is great and people do not have to work and are encouraged to spent their time "enriching their minds", which is another way of saying that as long as they don't protest against the system, they can do whatever the hell they want. I was really surprised with the technological terms used in this book and that it wasn't all that far fetched.

The main hero Aaron does not fit in the society and asks himself too many questions. Throughout the book I get the impression that he doesn't really know what to do with his life. However, once his mother is... Read more
I usually don't read much fiction however I am fascinated by conspiracy theories and I often think about what the future holds in terms of disruptive technologies, so this book did appeal to me.
The plot in some ways is very symbolic of current world themes and I like the fact that it is not set too far into the distant future allowing the reader to relate on some levels. The 'SSP' and the general populous are somewhat reminiscent of modern day communist dictatorships, however the fact the country is run in such a way that the 90% do not have to work and have everything including food and money taken care of, displays the power of technology and the human ability to settle for mediocrity, allowing the other 10% to completely dictate and manipulate the people.
Along with these almost political themes running through, the writing subtly builds tension while maintaining enough action and unpredictable twists to keep me on the edge of my seat, and in fact I read this book in... Read more
I totally love it! Aaron is looking to change the future and he is seeing the cracks in Sovereign Social Protocol firsthand. After a series of tragedies in his family, what more can happen?
I’m not into cliffhanger endings but this one is an exception. It had me in its clutches and definitely wanting more! The plot was set in the future where dangerous ideas were banned and technology has taken a forefront. There’s a global family where only the 10% percent of the population is concerned with the government. Imagine a time when you need not worry about anything and everybody is equal. Self-driving cars, weather manipulation, all the time to pursue your dreams, memory wipes, legalized drugs, even the resurrection of the dead! In the depths of the story is the flaw of humanity. In search of utopia, religious beliefs were abandoned. Androids were favored over humans. Individuality, emotions, and uniqueness are some of the things frowned upon. What are we to become if we...
