Ribbing prevents rolling and adds body to waistband construction

Rhode Island Flat Non-Roll Elastic is recommended for waistbands in pants, shorts, slacks, and shirts. A firm medium weight waistband elastic that resists rolling or twisting. Dries quicker and is shrink resistant. Machine wash, tumble dry or dry clean. Unaffected by chlorine bleach and popular laundry detergents when used as directed.
