TLC's Left Eye finally got the solo bug out of her system by creating a solo album she can call her own and not have to wait up for her sisters to coordinate and compromise. Arista president L.A. Reid personally took charge of the proceedings to help her create the kind of record Lisa had always wanted to make. The spotlight is squarely on Lopes rapping ability and she took up the challenge with verve and moxy. The tragedy of her sudden passing makes the future success of the album bittersweet.
