Superwowrms are the larvae of the beetle Zophobas morio, also known at the darkling beetle. Superworms are easy to culture and not prone to escape, making them a common feeder insect for reptiles and amphibians. Superworms have a higher ratio of flesh:exoskeleton than mealworms, making them an ideal food source for moderate to large size reptiles and amphibians. Superworms will not pupate into beetles if housed in close quarters with other superworms - this tactic is commonly used to suspend maturation into the adult form. Keep superworms at room temperature.
Large Superworms measure 2 1/2".
Superworms are a great feeder insect for: bearded dragons, leopard geckos, monitors, turtle, geckos, and other lizards.
