Nichrome 80 has a maximum operating temperature of 1180°C (2150°F). It has good corrosion resistance, good oxidation properties, and very good form stability. The corrosion resistance is good except in sulphur containing atmospheres. It is ideal for lower temperature applications such as: heating elements (hair dryers, ovens, toasters, kilns), model and high power rocket motor and recovery ejection charge ignition, heat sealers, polly cutters, foam cutters, resistors, rheostats, current-temperature controls, pyrotechnic ignition, lab inoculating loops, release mechanisms, and ceramic support in kilns.
