This will be a long review, but I was impressed and wanted to be thorough.
I first wanted to give a shout out to Jarod and Shannon at Titan. I did have some questions and concerns that they addressed extremely quickly and very professionally. The first email I sent to them with a question, before I even had my cord, and they responded to my email within a couple hours. I have worked with other sellers on Amazon before but none have been as fast, fair and friendly as Jarod and Shannon. They have earned my future business anytime I need paracord. Now on to the review... Sorry I had pictures to accompany this but could not get my old camera to download the pics to my pc, grrrrrr...
I just got back from a multi-day camping trip. A portion of this trip was intended to be used to test several pieces of new gear for me. One of those new items was, Titan SurvivorCord. This is their mil-spec paracord with the 3 additional survival cords added, brass wire, waxed jute...
I was immediately interested in getting my hands a sample of Titans SurvivorCord the second I got the email notification. I was however a bit skeptical. Could they actually make good on what sounded like a great product? All to often you hear about an amazing new product. It sounds good, looks better and is described as the best thing ever. This is NOT one of those products, THIS product hits the bullseye.
OK let's dig into some SurvivorCord.
My initial concern was about the copper wire. How would it hold up under pressure. So I cut about a 6 foot piece of SurvivorCord and secured it on both ends. I then balanced in the middle. FYI I weigh 200 pounds. My initial theory was that the wire would snap as the cordage stretched. I didn't bounce on the cord. I thought my 200 pounds was enough pressure. After standing on the cordage for about 60 seconds I untied the ends and started tying a survival bracelet. Again assuming the weak link would be the copper wire, IF it...
WOW... These guys nailed it.. The first time I have seen anything different in the boring paracord business was when I bought some "Firecord", which is great stuff. But it is kind of expensive (even at the wholesale cost.) The firecord has a flammable strand inside and until now, it was the ONLY 550 type cord that gave you anything extra. THIS STUFF BLOWS THEM AWAY! This TITAN "SurvivorCord" goes WAY beyond that. This is the 7-layer cake of EDC (Every day carry) paracord. I'd call it 550 cord but its stronger than that AND it does more. This stuff has a "tinder" cord inside to start a fire , a synthetic fishing filament to tie things or use for fishing, a manufacture marker line (because they want you to know you are not buying a copy? they are really planning ahead and being optimistic) But my favorite part is Brass wire. It can be used for a strong tie (I have seen pic's of a nicely tied arrow head) but I think what makes it unique is that it IS conductive...
