I love the card, no issues and works great on Windows 10. This gave me a tremendous network and internet download speed increase over the internal Broadcom wireless chip on my HP Envy (mfg date Jun'15). My only complaint is that the documentation was insufficient in how to install the drivers, the key solution as follows: 1. Install card (the easy part!) 2. Download Windows 10 driver from TP-link site (under Support, Archer T9E, Windows 10 driver) -- this is a zipped file and unpacks to a SETUP application file. You run it and it says the driver is installed --- but really nothing happens, DM says there is no driver... Why? Because you MUST DISABLE the existing Network Interface Device first! Once you do this (then reboot) the Setup runs perfectly and all is well. Root Cause: What happens on Windows 10 system is that the new NIC is created as a Network Controller device, not under NETWORK ADAPTER as is should be (note, it didn't do this on my Windows 7 system). Once...
I bought this for use in a Linux environment, because other users said it worked in Linux. It is recognized by Linux and a vast search for a driver ( a generic Broadcom chip driver) lets you use it, but with one caveat...You won't get the full "AC" speeds this card is designed for. You basically get Wireless B/G speeds. TP Link only has Windows and Mac drivers for this card. I emailed TP Link and asked about dedicated Linux drivers and have been getting fluff answers. So who knows if and when full Linux support will ever come. I can't speak for it's use in a Windows environment. I basically wasted a bunch of cash on this card.
The product works great. I am somewhat of a hardcore gamer so initially the idea of wireless was bothersome and the reliability and technology up until now left a lot to be desired. Reading up on the recent tech and products like this wireless card led me to bite the bullet and give it a shot, I am now getting consistent max speeds for my allotted bandwidth and have yet to unexpectedly disconnect with it... But it did take some doing, for which- I fully blame Comcast. You may want to read on if you use them, especially if you just got a new wireless gateway from them and plan on using this to connect to it -as I did.
Initially I was having all sorts of problems with a trickling connection that would almost always crash when I launched a specific games and programs. The Arris gateway I mentioned and others given to you by xfinity may, by default and unbeknownst to the customer, broadcast a second unsecured ssid, as mine did. I isolated it to be coming from my gateway on the...
