"Close the door, Teri." His smile disappeared, and the sudden change in his tone shocked her. There was no trace of his usual conversational warmth, only firm command, deep and full of power. Teri stood to obey immediately, but as she touched the doorknob, she hesitated and considered walking out. As hot as he was, Donovan made her nervous.

It was the F written on her exam, circled for emphasis, that changed her mind. She needed a better grade. She pushed the heavy oak door shut and heard the latch click into place.

Donovan's arm reached past her shoulder, and he twisted the deadbolt shut. Teri jumped; when had he moved behind her? She started to turn, but Donovan said, "No, stay where you are."

Teri stared at the door, unsure what to do, but unwilling or unable to disobey that strong voice. She could feel him behind her, just inches away. His scent filled her nostrils again, and she felt her pulse quicken.

"Is sex just about reproduction, Teri?" Professor Donovan whispered in her ear.

She shook her head.

"What else, then?"

"Desire," she said. Her breaths felt shallow and quick, and gooseflesh rippled across her upper arms.

"I desire you," he said in a husky voice. "Is that enough?"

She wanted to tell him that it was, that he could have her if he wanted. But what if he was playing some kind of game? She would be humiliated. "No," she said, putting a little too much scorn in her tone. "You're too old."

He let out a low chuckle. "Too old? Or not powerful enough? You want someone strong, don't you?" He put his hands on her shoulders and squeezed gently, but she could feel the iron in his grip. This was wrong; he shouldn't be touching her, but she didn't want him to stop. She crossed her arms over her breasts and shivered as he massaged her. "Someone who can protect you."

Teri had never thought about it that way, but she knew he was right. She nodded.

Suddenly, he spun her around and pressed her against the door. Teri gulped air in deep breaths that made her breasts heave. Her ass pressed against the oak, but Donovan stood just inches away. She followed his eyes down to her open blouse, and her hand fumbled at the top button.
