Horace Marden was an Argonaut, who came to California during the Gold Rusk, by boat from his home state of Maine in 1851. He had been active in the milling, mining, lumber and freight business.
In 1915 and 1916 Marden wrote a series of articles about his life and times in Gold and Silver Mining Camps of Aurora, Nevada and Bodie, California, during their heydays of 1863 to 1889.
