I decided to try out this chocolate after it was recommended to me by a friend on a ketogenic diet. I'm not a huge chocolate lover, but I do like to have some dark chocolate every now and then. Unfortunately, on a low-carb or keto diet, you're pretty restricted in what you can have in terms of chocolate. All I've found until this point were the terrible, sugar-free versions of regular dark chocolates. Those are okay, but the gastrointestinal side effects of the sugar alcohols are sometimes a problem.
This stuff tastes great. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to someone who is looking for a more traditional chocolate taste -- it's definitely a dark chocolate. If you like really dark chocolate, this is for you. Took me a little getting used to (try the 70 %, if you don't like bitter), but I love the earthy feel. The only ingredients are chocolate and cane sugar, and you taste/feel both. The chocolate is stone ground, so it starts off with the fibrous texture from the stone grinding, followed by the smooth mouthfeel from the fat in the cacao bean. Finishes with a delicate crunch from the crystals of cane sugar. This is pricey, but it's a real treat that is well worth it. I'm seriously addicted now. Shipped it to Hawaii during December and it arrived in good condition.
I AM a dark chocolate connoisseur ( you might say). I love dark chocolate but this is over priced and sorry the taste was not that great I am willing to pay the price of good quality dark chocolate but I can get 85%. In Lindt and higher in other brands for $2.49. Even $3.99 I was curious because this bar had such reviews that I had to try. But will not buy again
