On this new album, oboist Albrecht Mayer unearths some of the buried treasures of the Italian baroque. Besides the famous Vivaldi Concerto for Oboe and Strings in C Major RV 450, the album includes a great selection of world premiere recordings including Domenico Elmi's Concerto for Oboe, Strings, and Basso continuo in A Minor and Giuseppe Sammartini's Concerto in C Major Op.8 No.4. This year marks his 25th anniversary as principal oboist of the Berlin Philharmonic.
