The Office of Strategic Services (OSS) was America's first strategic intelligence organization. It was established six months after America entered World War II, to collect and analyze intelligence information, and to conduct special services, including subversion, sabotage, and psychological warfare.

Under the leadership of its founder, "Wild Bill" Donovan, OSS attracted some very imaginative, capable and colorful personalities. A number of those are introduced here, All served in Asia, where they did remarkable things that helped defeat the Japanese war machine - while pioneering methods used by American intelligence and Special Forces.
