The Big Book of Thyme

The Big Book of Thyme incorporates The Thyme Handbook first published in July 2009 and the International Thymus Register and Checklist first published in December 2009. Included are descriptions and photographs of UK, European and American cultivars. The majority of the photographs are by the author, with additional photographs from Larry Hatch of NOS, Susie White and other nurserymen. It is for gardeners and nurserymen who love growing thyme and who would like to know more about it and also for botanists and those interested in the correct nomenclature for Thymus cultivars.

There are articles on the history and uses of thyme and cultivation in the garden written by Susie White. The Big Book of Thyme is available in 6 parts for ease of download. Part 6 includes a full bibliography and details of nursery catalogues consulted, an illustrated glossary, lists of nurseries selling thyme and the index. Also included are the author's photographs of thyme growing in the wild.

Margaret Easter holds National Plant Collection of Thymus (Scientific Status) and has been growing and studying thyme for nearly 20 years and is the International Cultivar Registration Authority (ICRA) for Thymus.
