Colossus has grown more and more powerful, its domain now extending beyond the five continents of Earth. When a message arrives from Martians that seems too good to be true, the scientists are sceptical but hopeful.

The Martians have the power to permanently terminate Colossus.

The world is now under threat, and Forbin has to decide who to save, and who is the real threat to humanity.

Dennis Feltham Jones was a British Science Fiction author; he was a Naval Commander in World War II, and lived in Cornwall until his death in 1981. His writings dealt with the ongoing battle â€“ both physical and philosophical â€“ between man and machine. He is perhaps most famous for his Colossus series, which was translated to the big screen in 1970 for the film Colossus: The Forbin Project, which was well received by critics, and was nominated for a Hugo Award in 1971.
