The Felt Store Kevlar® Felt Canoe Skid Plates – Canoe Hull Protection Kit for Bow & Stern, Cut & Abrasion Resistant Kevlar Felt, Canoe & Kayak Repair Accessory for Paddling & Camping Season, 2 Pieces
ENHANCE CANOE LONGEVITY: Crafted from 100% para-aramid synthetic fibers, these Kevlar canoe skid plates provide excellent cut and abrasion resistance, protecting the canoe bow and stern from rocks, sand, and rough shorelines. Ideal for summer canoeing, river paddling, and lake adventures, helping extend the life of your canoe.
MATERIAL & SIZE: Made from durable Kevlar felt with woven scrim, this canoe skid plate kit includes 2 skid plates. Each plate tapers from 4 inches to 2.5 inches wide and measures 30 inches long, providing reliable canoe hull protection and abrasion resistance. Perfect for canoe repair, maintenance, and seasonal boat preparation.
EASY INSTALLATION: Designed for quick installation, simply place the scrim (mesh) side against the canoe hull and secure with epoxy resin. This DIY canoe skid plate repair solution helps reinforce high-wear areas on the bow and stern, making it ideal for preseason canoe maintenance or restoring older canoes.
DURABLE KEVLAR FABRIC: Constructed from strong Kevlar felt with tightly woven fibers and ring-like molecular structure, these skid plates offer long-lasting canoe abrasion protection. Built for demanding outdoor use such as river trips, portaging, and wilderness canoe camping.
SAFEGUARD YOUR CANOE: Prevent costly damage by reinforcing vulnerable hull areas with Kevlar canoe protection plates. These abrasion-resistant skid plates shield your boat from rocks, oyster beds, gravel shorelines, and repeated landings, making them essential gear for paddling season and outdoor canoe adventures.
Installing Kevlar Felt Skid Plates is a simple way to protect both the bow and stern of your canoe from shoreline impact and strikes on submerged rocks. The Felt Store uses a para-aramid needle felt that protects your craft against abrasion. The material's inherent strength comes from its ring-like molecular structure and the way the fibers are tightly knit together. Our skid plates are sold in pairs and tapered from 4 inches to 2.5 inches wide along a 30 inch length.
We recommend you install the plates with epoxy resin (not included).
