The Four Living Creatures: Entering God's Kingdom in the Age of Terror
As darkness spreads over America and the world, there will be a strong tendency for people to lose all hope. If the eyes of our heart are not focused on Jesus Christ, if we are not abiding in a deep, trusting relationship with him, our hearts will fail us for fear. The revelation of God disclosed on the pages of this book will take us beyond fear and despair into the Kingdom of God, into a dimension of the supernatural reserved only for the church of the end times…but it will cost us something. We must be willing to lay down our self-life and pursue Jesus Christ and his holiness, for only the pure in heart can enter here. The prophet Joel speaks of this time when he describes the Day of the Lord as being a time of terrible fear and deep darkness, yet at the same time he sees the army of God going forth in the earth with great unity and power such as the world has never seen (Joel 2). Ezekiel saw these same people symbolically revealed as being the four living creatures. This symbology was intended by God to hide details of their formation and ministry so that only those who were destined to live this revelation in the end times would be permitted to understand it. Part of decoding this passage is accomplished by interpreting the number “four†by its spiritual meaning only. “Four†throughout the whole Bible represents “man in relation to earth as created.†So these creatures are human beings (and there are not just four of them). The whole first chapter of Ezekiel reveals in detail how they will be brought into perfection, put off mortality and put on immortality. All this takes place through their cooperation and relationship with Jesus Christ. In this book every word of Ezekiel 1 is carefully decoded according to its meaning in the original language and its usage throughout the whole Bible. Each verse flows into the next with an interpretation that is consistent throughout and shows the believer coming into perfection in the end times such that the Lord calls him “son of man†the same words he used to describe himself. It is not difficult to see that Ezekiel 1:4, “ And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire†is the coming of the Holy Spirit as depicted in Acts 2: “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.†However in Ezekiel, the new language is the language of visions and parables as revealed in the words “likeness†and “appearance.†(This was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.) When delving into the original Hebrew we find that “likeness†is “a similitude†which is “a parable.†A parable is “a superiority of mental action.†“Parable†is from a root word meaning, “to rule, to govern, to make have dominion, and power.†As we learn to think in visions (appearance) and parables as led by the Holy Spirit we will begin to have dominion over parts of our mind and body that have been beyond our control. This will release the power of the Holy Spirit to change us. There are several vision/parables as experienced by the author revealed in the book. This summary is just scratching the surface of a great revelation for the church of the end times to help bring her into a realm in God where she will come into perfection and minister even as Jesus did to a lost and dying world.
