"The Knitting Diaries" is a collection of three short stories written by three different authors. What ties them together is the theme of knitting and all are set in small towns in the Pacific Northwest.
"The Twenty-First Wish" by Debbie Macomber is the longest story in the book and is a continuation of the Blossom Street series. It continues the story presented in "Twenty Wishes" of Anne Marie Roche and her adopted daughter, Ellen. This wish has been added to Ellen's list and it is that her mother and biological father will somehow fall in love and the three can become a family.
"Coming Unraveled" by Susan Mallery is the second entry in this triad. The Knitting Diaries is a fun, light read, guaranteed to warm your heart. I was a little worried that reading 3 stories in a row about knitting would be a turn off. I'm happy to say that for me that wasn't the case because each writer approached the subject differently.
I am a big fan of Debbie Macomber and loved The Twenty-First Wish story since I read Twenty Wishes not so long ago. It was nice to have a continuation of sorts of that particular book and find out what the characters were up to and how things worked out for them. I had not previously read anything by Susan Mallery or Christina Skye. I'm sure that will change and that I will now pick up titles by the new-to-me authors because I enjoyed their stories, Coming Unravelled and Return to Summer Island, so much.
I can recommend this book to anyone who needs some light, quick, heartwarming reading. It was very easy to pick up and come back to. Great book for lunch break reading. I think it would also make...
Imagine my surprise when three of my favorite authors came together for one book. I LOVED all three stories. Debbie Macombers story is fantastic and being able to catch up with the Blossom Street Gang was a great bonus. However the story does stand on its own and if you did not read any of the other Blossom Street books that is Okay you will follow along and fall in love with these great characters.
Susan Mallerys and Christinas Skyes stories were a lot shorter but full of great characters and story lines that will leave you wanting MORE!! A great collection and you will love all three of these heartfelt stories!!!
