At Rambouillet, Versailles and Fontainebleau, her apartments, her pavilions, cottages and dairies set in 'rustic' landscapes, were exquisitely designed and furnished by the most gifted artists and craftsmen, among them the cabinet-makers Riesener and Sene, and the architect Mique.
