Why are there no reviews for this set? Why the huge daily price fluctuations? Will these be released individually? Questions abound regarding this box set.

One thing I can tell you, though, is that this vinyl sounds wonderful. Very clean and smooth, warm midranges. Much better than my original LPs (which admittedly I bought used and not in audiophile condition). I like the match of the new DSD remasters with engineering for vinyl - seems to reveal less of the compression, brickwalling, and other artifacts that people have been complaining about with the CD releases. I happen to like the recent CD releases, though, but I feel that the vinyl offers a richer experience.

I do have to say I was not thrilled with having to buy all the post Tattoo You releases, which I just don't consider "classic" but of course that is my bias and probably arbitrary on my part. Still it was worth it to get such a run of great albums (the earlier half of the set) on a beautiful... Read more
I just received both of the box sets today and I have to say I'm enormously relieved. The negative reviews of the packaging of these had scared me. Let's face it: this is quite a bit of money here, especially during the holidays. And, if you delay, you wonder will they still be available into the New Year? Will the price be the same? It's all kind of a gamble, isn't it?? The price could go down, but with the Stones I don't think it will go down much. (Both boxes are numbered on the bottom, but they don't indicate out of how many total printed. I presume it is a big number, but I expect the world-wide demand for these will be significant.)

First, let me comment on the packaging. I think it is pretty good. It's about as good as one can reasonably expect. At least half of these are fold-opens ("gatefolds," I believe, is the term). You get a lot of classic visuals here. The covers themselves bring back memories. The "matte" finish of the cardboard actually seems... Read more
I had my original collection of the Stones entire catalog stolen by my wonderfully thoughtful ex-wife and never dreamed I would see an affordable new collection again. I considered purchasing the albums separately and found the asking price to be unreasonable and shocking. Bridges to Babylon and Voodoo Lounge new or used: $50 to $100 or more.I purchased this set for a tad over $250.00. 14 albums in a boxset for $250 or 2 albums for $125.Do the math,if you consider the cost of each album new (if you can find it), this box set is reasonably priced. Remastered on thick 180 gram vinyl with a rich warm sound. The records are stored in a sturdy, colorful, thick box. The album covers and art work are faithfully reproduced. A few exceptions, no post cards from Exile, and no poster from Emotional Rescue. There is the Goat poster from Goats head soup, lyric sheets in Undercover and Dirty Works. I may be missing a few other notes I'm not a Stones expert, but overall a great buy for the Stones fan... Read more
