The Saddle Horse: a Complete Guide for Riding and Training
This illustrated volume was published in 1881.
From the Publisher's Preface:
The rapidly-growing fondness for horseback riding, among ladies as well as gentlemen, has created a large demand for a work on Saddle-Horses. We know of no writings so thoroughly practical and useful, and so com- pletely covering the subject, as the various papers of Col. Geo. E. Waring, Jr., heretofore printed in the " American Agriculturist. " We have accordingly brought these together in the present volume, supplementing them with a small work by E. L. Anderson, who is in England regarded as a standard authority.
Any one, lady or gentleman, young or old, who desires to acquire the art of horsemanship, will find all that is required in this book.
