Exploring and illustrating many examples of both petroglyphs and pictographs, Dennis Slifer looks at some of the major themes within the rock art traditions, focusing primarily on fertility, sexuality, death and regeneration, of humans, animals and the natural world. A final chapter looks at how these sites are protected and preserved.
