Seven year-old Mary's runaway talent for art has become both private sanctuary and wild frontier, a place where she is unrestrained to dream and explore, and put it all down in paint. Her teenage sister is so very opposite; caught in a down-spiral, she is interested only in the means to shut down her mind and shut out just about everything else.
