When I saw the first exercise in this book was a skipping rope, I thought, oh for God's sake, my daughter has one of those. How can that help me get my stumpy legs into shape? I need a lot more than a piece of rope. But I was determined and unlike people who have flabby bellies, when it comes to legs there is no magical surgical solution, you simply have to do the work. So that's what I did. Starting with the rope, I worked my way through the running step-ups, toe taps (much harder than they sound by the way), leg presses and calf raises (this simple exercise was the hardest to get right and oh the pain!! ouch!) I'll never forget the pain in my legs after the first week. Even walking was a chore. But you know what they say, no pain, no gain. I didn't care. I stuck with it. It was worth every second of the struggle. Now I feel much healthier and my legs are much leaner. For the first time in years, I like my legs. I might even love them.
