When Yahveh (the name of God) entered into a covenant with Abraham, He formed a people for Himself. It was a covenant of promise based on faith. When Yahveh entered into a covenant through Moses, He set forth His righteous requirement for His people. It was a covenant of law based on works. When Yahveh sent His Son, Yeshua/Jesus, He fulfilled His righteous requirement for His people—doing for them what they could not do for themselves. It was a new covenant of grace based on faith. In so doing, Yeshua made good on Yahveh's promise to have a people for Himself—a people of faith who are of the transcendent seed of Abraham.
