Product Description

The Works of R. Austin Freeman: 28 Novels and Short Stories (Halcyon Classics)

This Halcyon Classics ebook contains twenty-eight novels and short stories by British mystery writer R. Austin Freeman, who wrote during the "Golden Age of Detective Fiction" during the 1920s and 1930s. Freeman (1862-1943) claimed to have invented the inverted detective story, whereby the crime in question is described in detail, with the story revolving around the detective's efforts to solve it.

Most of Freeman's stories include the character of Dr. Thorndyke, a doctor and forensic scientist. His ingenious solutions were based on his method of collecting all possible data (including dust and pond weed) and making inferences from them before looking at any of the protagonists and motives in the crimes.

This ebook is DRM free and includes an active table of contents for easy navigation.
