In the early 21st century, the United States has turned even more conservative and isolationist, and support for expensive NASA exploration programs is diminishing. When a frustrated scientist discovers scanned evidence of life or pre-life on Titan, a moon of Saturn, he begins to recruit NASA astronauts for a desperate, one-way mission--the last hope for man and the universe.
