Without dwelling on it too much, Zane climbed out of bed and slid on a pair of shorts. He didnâ€™t bother putting on a shirt. Without a second thought, he marched down to Ashleyâ€™s room and gently rapped on the door.
It didnâ€™t take Ashley long at all to answer. She was already up. She had been thinking about Zane, too.
â€œI need to talk to you, please,â€ Zane said.
Ashley stepped aside and allowed the man to enter. She once again could not help but notice the manâ€™s muscular physique. Once the door was shut, Zane turned to face her. He was nervous to make his pitch, but decided to go for it before he could chicken out.
â€œAshley, I donâ€™t know why youâ€™re fighting who you are. You deserve so much better than the way you are treated by that fella back in New York. And you deserve better than the way you treat yourself.â€
â€œWhat do you mean?â€ Ashley asked, trying to sound offended. They both knew it was an act.
â€œYouâ€™re not living the life you really want. Why did you wait until coming back here to buy those pull-ups?â€ Zane asked, pointing to the garment Ashley still wore.
Ashley looked down at the floor, embarrassed.
â€œBaby girl, you donâ€™t need to be ashamed,â€ Zane said. He moved in closer and reached for Ashley. Pulling her to himself, Zane hugged her. â€œOh, my sweet girl.â€ Zane gently swayed back and forth, kissing the girl on top of her head.
Ashley melted in the manâ€™s loving embrace. At that moment, she didnâ€™t want to fight it. She couldnâ€™t have, anyway.
â€œOne day and night,â€ Zane whispered. â€œThatâ€™s all Iâ€™m asking for, baby girl. Give me one day and night. Give that time to yourself.â€

Ashley is a busy woman. As the head of her own marketing start-up firm, she has a million things on her plate and mind. Her boyfriend, Trey, seems distant, and Ashley fears the worst. On top of that, Ashley has been fighting her â€œlittleâ€ tendencies for the past decade, too ashamed to admit her desires even to herself!
That is why Ashley is excited to return to South Carolina for her ten-year high school reunion. Sheâ€™s also excited about seeing her old boyfriend, Zane. The two had been madly in love with one another. Zane is also the only person Ashley has ever confessed her little side to.
