Trigger finger is a painful condition that affects a wide swath of the population. It most frequently occurs in adults ages 40-60 but can affect people at any age. Sometimes mallet finger will be accompanied by fractured or broken finger, but sometimes the only real symptom is an inability to straighten the tip of the finger.
