The good folks at Troy Lee Designs recognized this problem and decided to put a stop to it once and for all. The KG 5450 Knee/Shin Guard is cool and comfortable. Best of all, it stays where you want it.TLD designed the KG 5450 Knee/Shin Guard with comfort as the very top priority. Troy Lee's X-FIT system uses a wraparound sleeve to keep the pad in place. Unlike bulky straps, this sleeve moves with the body for a natural feel. The main body is constructed primarily of stretch mesh in places that don't see a whole lot of impact and a rugged woven Aramid material in high-abrasion areas. The stretch mesh fabric allows air to flow freely through the pad to keep you dry and cool, and also keeps the weight down. The KG 5450 also incorporates Vent-Trak channels that move air over the skin to reduce heat and perspiration. The brunt of most impacts is taken by the internal knee and shin caps that are designed to stay close to your leg for a natural feel and comfortable flex. Surrounding the pads is TLD's Strata foam, which moves naturally with the body while it protects so it doesn't feel like it's binding. Inside, silicone grippers keep the sleeve in place so it doesn't slide around uncomfortably while you ride.
