The Troy Lee Connect Short finds a happy medium between mountain bike shorts and everyday shorts. The cut is mountain bike-specific, and the front media pocket is designed to keep your mobile device safe and accounted for without letting it interfere while you ride. The polyester/spandex blend even has a little stretch built in, so you're range of motion won't be limited on the trail. Also, the shorts' main body fabric breathes well and wicks moisture to keep you dry and comfortable during the ride. Back in town, however, the Connect's styling doesn't shout "bro!" quite like typical mountain bike shorts. Refreshingly subtle is the description that comes to mind. The drawstring closure is nice, too -- it lets you get the fit exactly how you want it and allows you to dictate your shorts' ride height.
