This is a Trumpeter 1/48 scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the Tupolev Tu-16, a twin-jet engine long-range bomber developed by the Tupolev Design Bureau (Tupolev OKB, design office prefix Tu) for the former Soviet Union. Codenamed "Badger" by NATO, the Tu-16 features large swept wings and and two massive Mikulin AM-3 turbojets. The Tu-16 is capable of carrying conventional bombs as well as a variety of nuclear weapons to a range of around 3,000 miles, and later types were modified to carry cruise missiles. This rare assembly kit of the Tu-16 in 1/144 scale by Trumpeter depicts the Tu-16K-10 variant (NATO codename: "Badger C"), a specialized Naval Aviation version fitted with a radar in its nose and capable of carrying a single Raduga K-10S (NATO codename: AS-2 Kipper) anti-ship cruise missile. This kit comes with decals for Tu-16K-10s in service with the Soviet Air Force. 87 parts total.
