Tuite involves grabbing, joint manipulation, pressure points, grappling, striking, kicks, tearing, control, throws and balance. There are times when you might want to control an opponent rather than hurting them and a joint lock would be a much better response. The joints within the body move many different ways and knowing which way they don’t move and how to apply the pressure will control your opponent. Knowing the body’s range of motion and weaknesses are key to using tuite. Tuite isn’t about strength. It’s about body physics. It doesn’t matter how big or strong you are, if your joint is being pushed in the way it isn’t meant to bend, it will hurt and you will follow or the joint will break.
