【Turtle Katana, Hand Forged Full Tang】A hand-forged Japanese katana defined by its black iron turtle tsuba, a silver-and-gold relief of a turtle amid flowing water and seaweed. Forged from 1045 carbon steel with a full tang for a balanced, secure build, and a 27.4 in (69.6 cm) curved single-edge blade.
【1045 Heat-Tempered Blade】The 1045 carbon steel blade is heat-tempered to produce a wavy temper line along its length and finished to an edge suited to dojo practice. A bo-hi runs down each side, lightening the blade and giving it an audible note through the cut.
【Black Iron Turtle Tsuba & Rayskin Handle】The black iron turtle tsuba sits above a brass habaki collar. The wood handle is wrapped in genuine rayskin (samegawa) and black cotton ito over menuki, giving a firm two-handed grip.
【Full Tang, Lacquered Saya】The full-tang blade is secured by bamboo mekugi pegs and rides in a red crackle stone-grain lacquered wooden saya with a black sageo cord. Blade 27.4 in, handle 10.75 in, overall 40.5 in.
