Product Description

Tutino: Le Braci

Marco Tutino is an Italian composer born in 1954. Taken from the famous novel by the Hungarian writer Sándor Márai, the plot of this opera revolves around the reunion, after forty-one years, between an elderly General, Henrik, and his best friend from military school, Konrad. The two loved the same woman, Kristina. With as a backdrop the ruins of the Austro-Hungarian empire, Le braci (Embers) tells the story of a broken friendship, of unavoidable ageing and of violent feelings that are still alive under the ashes of the past. After forty years the two men meet again to speak about the past and about Kristina, long dead. Their conversation leads them to a deep meditation on love, friendship and morality. A world première
