Mini DP to HDMI (4K)

Perfect solution for HDMI connectivity issues between Lenovo P50 and Projectors. I had less than 10% chances getting my Lenovo P50 connect to projector via HDMI. My friend's MAC also failed to connect via HDMI. There are numerous postings on Lenovo forums but no solution. My best friend explained that the NVIDIA video card is primarily made for connecting to an external device via DP. He suggested to buy the DP to HDMI adapter. Bingo! It connects all the time. No issues. Later, I noticed that adapter with UHD resolution is not that expensive either.
This worked for me to get 4K, coupled with an Amazon Basics hdmi cable. I knew that my hp elitebook 745 business laptop was driving a Dell 30 inch 2560x1440 monitor at the office, with a DP to DP cable. So first I bought a Cable Matters DP to hdmi cable to connect to my 40 inch 4K Samsung 6300 series TV. That only gave me 1920x1080. So I took a chance on this adapter after reading some reviews. This worked to give me full K 3840x2160 image (30p) as I hoped.
I didn't know what I needed exactly. The MacBook had the tiny little output port, and the monitors I might be using (Acer, Samsung) had VGA and DVI ports (and I didn't think I wanted VGA). A few online articles said that the MacBook's Mini DisplayPort was compatible with DVI or HDMI, and after some more searching I found that the little port on my MacBook was the Mini DisplayPort.
I then searched for adapters, and selected this one more or less at random. It arrived two days later, I plugged it into the monitor and MacBook, and instantly the picture appeared. Two minutes later after navigating through the Mac's settings, I got it configured the way I like, with the monitor on the left and laptop on the right. No more fighting with the Mac's relatively small screen.
