I used Uchida's Deco Color paint pens several years ago for a large mural I painted on my son's bedroom wall. My wife has used them as well. We used all three thicknesses and various colors and were thrilled with how they performed and the finished look.

Fast forward to a month ago, when I bought some new ones from Amazon for a new project. The black fine point pen has given me nothing but trouble. The first one worked once, then the tip would no longer dispense paint. I exchanged it for another, and the replacement leaks. The pen will work fine for a while, and then a huge blob will drop on the work surface unexpectedly. I'm constantly having to wipe the tip of the pen to try and prevent this.

I hate seeing a great product go down the toilet, but that seems to be what's happened with these Deco Color pens. There is a serious manufacturing or design flaw, and Uchida needs to take care of it. Especially given the price they charge!
I was told to use this paint marker, because sharpie paint markers weren't working correctly. I researched this, and saw all the reviews on the markers. I used this on a product that would be written on primed wood. The product came on time and the transaction was good, once I used the item it worked beautifully. But on the second use, it stopped working and it wouldn't work again, also like the sharpies oil extra fine tip paint markers did.. And this marker started to leak all over my work table. So you know I'm not happy. I'm sending it back!!!!!

Just a quick note: I searched on uTube and found that if you place the nib in alcohol of Isopropyl 91%, letting it soak in it for a few minutes (between 5 to 15 minutes) your paint markers will start to working again.

Also, note this as well, if the marker hasn't worked for a few weeks and you try this, it may not work...try to soak the nib/tip longer than 20 minutes, to see if it works with the clogged tip... Read more
Just Ned to know owp to use these pens. Great for stained glass YouTube videos, let dry and put cheap glue stick on dry pattern before grinding or using on a ring saw and it won't budge. Keep from rubbing off with your fingers a your grinding or cutting. Black is the best. Gold clogs up very fast, silver is in between. Watch YouTube videos.
