Maggie is a Pinkerton agent who answers a mail-order-bride ad from Garrett, a father of two small children, because the Pinkerton Agency suspects him to be a train robber and murderer. Garrett is nothing like Maggie expected, and she finds it difficult to keep her feelings in check. She would rather prove him innocent than find him guilty, yet all the evidence points to Garrett. In the meantime, Garrett is finding in Maggie something he never expected to find with a mail-order-bride -- a second chance at love. How will Garrett react when he finds out about Maggie's deception?

Garrett Thompson cannot believe his good fortune; a second chance at love. He never expected his mail-order bride to completely capture his heart, much less the hearts of his two children. How could such a beautiful, intelligent, albeit adventurous young woman like Maggie want to marry a simple, war-scarred man like himself? Why even his grumpy old aunt has taken to the young lady, miraculously recovering from her various aches and pains to enthusiastically plan their wedding.
