This text book presents a very balanced view of the major events of US history. Any history textbook covering this much territory will not go into great detail on anything. That is not it's purpose. This textbook I feel fairly represents what the major events were that shaped American life and were on the minds of the people of the times.
The reviewer above takes the KKK comments out of context. The KKK was a horrible organization and should rightly be condemned. However, taken in the context of the whole of American history, I feel an appropriate weight and treatment was given.
Textbooks are meant to be a foundation for a class, not the full curriculum. Instructors are free to add materials as they wish. Anyway, they targeted "bootleggers" and "wife-beaters," which is ironic because the only clan members I've ever seen are always drinking beer and wearing wife beaters. But, hey, maybe they're being ironic hipster Klansmen? The fact is that we Americans owe these faceless, cross-burning...
Although the photo in the picture says Student Activities, the listing does not. I ordered this on my phone, so things were smaller. It was not the item I was wanting, but the company was excellent about accepting the return and issuing credit. I think the listing should be modified.
