- Remove shelving/drawers obstructing the freezer’s rear panel. 2. Lift off the light lens cover, unscrew the bulb and set aside. 3. Remove rear panel screws; detach the grounding wire if applicable. 4. Remove the rear panel to expose the evaporator bracket and old defrost heater. 5. Take off the old heater by removing mounting screws and disconnecting wires. 6. Connect the new heater’s wires, position it on the bracket and secure. 7. Reinstall the rear panel, reattach the grounding wire if needed, and fasten with screws. 8. Reinstall the bulb, lens cover and shelving/drawers
