The reason you buy this is to get the most out of your USB devices. Not all USB cards are the same. Most 4 port cards have one BUS and use a HUB to make more ports. This card uses 4 BUSes to power the 4 USB ports.

Most cards - 1 BUS = 4 Ports
This card - 4 BUSes = 4 ports

I use this card to drive 4 webcams at full 1080p in Wirecast.
Even though installed in a Dell R630 server, with 16 cpu cores and 64GB RAM, this board is pretty slow; it runs at 1/2 the speed of even a lowly Dell desktop SuperSpeed USB port on my Dell Optiplex 7010. Tested with the identical external USB 3 drive (7.200 rpm Fantom 4TB). On the Dell Optiplex, I get 270+ megabytes per second throughput; on the Vantec card in the Dell R630 Server, I only get 127 megabytes per second, even with the policy set to performance vs. quick removal.

Not very impressed.
Okay, I might get flamed for this review, because it could very well be my computer case, but no joke, the metal separators between slots in the back of the case are not wide enough for USB wires to plug into this card! It's certainly not an issue of moving it higher or lower (and potentially damaging the card and or motherboard slot), the female ports on this card simply are too wide (vertically) for a cable to be inserted into without the case's metal separators getting in the way which makes little sense to me, but I am a simple guy, maybe there's something I'm missing. I'll try it out on another computer but as of now I can't even give this thing a fair shake because of the sizing... I'm open to suggestions here.
