My spouse has decided that she wants to start eating vegetarian again. I have never been a vegetarian and this doesn't appeal to me as a lifestyle but, I have to admit that the recipes that she has been cooking from this cookbook are actually pretty delicious. Author Jamie Steward has put together 200 vegetarian recipes that are both easy to make and quite yummy, even for those of us who aren't with the program. We have tried the "Easy Honey Cornbread" and "French Toast with Orange and Vanilla" for breakfast and the "Mushroom Cheeseburgers" and "Breaded Cheese Ravioli" for dinner. All so delicious and we can't wait to get through more of them.
Because of my recent conversion to vegetarianism, I’ve already felt the positive effects of following its proper diet protocols. Now that I’m about two months in though, I have admittedly become a bit bored with the limited culinary choices in my personal repertoire. My wife purchased this book for us recently and we were both immediately impressed by the over 200 recipes that spread throughout the pages. Even the intro was elucidating; discussing the pros of vegetarianism and the proper means to get the right nutrients. From there though, the actual recipes immediately come to the front, starting with breakfast. The structure of the book takes you through all three eating times then actually includes some amazing dessert recipes as well. From tropical oatmeal and baked mushrooms with almonds, all the way to mini pita pockets and chocolate avocado mousse, there are more than enough delicious recipes in here to delight even the most scrutinizing individual...
What a fresh and fun read. Vegetarian Recipes – Top 200 Vegetarian Recipes Cookbook is packed with great tasting ideas with a fantastic balance of nutrition and taste. The author opens with some great insight and information regarding taking on a vegetarian lifestyle or just taking in a vegetarian meal for the night. I also like the start look at understanding and learning some new sources of protein and finding the right foods to get all your vitamins and minerals on a daily basis. The Veggie Baguette Sandwiches are outstanding at breakfast and are just as great for a lunch, served warm or cold it’s delicious. Makes for an out-of-this-world picnic sandwich. Some wonderful Frittata recipes and the Apricot and Almonds Granola is one of the best I’ve ever baked up. A recipe book you’ll come back to, again and again.
