This is Volume 2 of a 2 volume set. This volume covers Murray / Mercury, various Obscure Makers, Rollfast (sometimes called Snyder), Schwinn (including some BF Goodrich models), Sears (Elgin prewar, Higgins postwar), Shelby, Spiegel (Airman badged bikes), Western Flyer (rebadged bikes from many makers), Motorized bikes, Accessories, and Thoughts on Collecting. I suggest buying both volumes of this set together, 'cause if you buy one then you'll want the other as soon as you start in on the first one.This title was originally intended to be limited to a print run of 630 copies. Amazon has changed up the rules a bit, so that if I want to be able to buy copies for private distribution then I also have to make these titles available for public distribution. So it goes. I might still pull the plug on this title when it reaches 630 copies. We'll see.Anyway, if you're a new collector or a seasoned veteran of the vintage bicycle scene, then you'll dig this book. Scads of scans from vintage catalogs that somehow escaped the maw of time. Running commentary on bikes and parts and such. A stunning glimpse into the industrial art of America's past manufacturing prowess. Plus, you know, original source material on how these bikes were equipped, how the frame styles evolved, which ones are common, and which ones are worth crawling through a tumble-down barn of black widows to retrieve.
