Vivaldi: Gloria / Stabat Mater (Virtuoso Series)

One of the greatest choral works of the Baroque era, Vivaldi s Gloria remained relatively unknown until it was revived, along with the composer's setting of the Stabat Mater, during Sienna s "Vivaldi Week" in 1939. There is a freshness of approach and a lightness of sound and texture, which serve the music extremely well.
