It is the year 2027, a time when the Earth’s land masses have been inundated by eight metres of rising sea – the impact of climate change being even more catastrophic than scientists had ever predicted – and the world is in the grip of a new faith, Delugion, the leader of that faith having uncannily forecast the various natural disasters that have shaped the world.
John Frankston, friend and political adviser to Frank Tsoukalos, has helped his country ride the changes over the decades, but when John discovers a strange email linking Frank with Delugion, Frank is murdered and John finds himself kidnapped, whilst simultaneously being framed for Frank’s murder.
John is soon intercepted by members of an eco-terrorist group, and discovers that they are his last hope for freedom and helping him unveil the truth.
Warmth explores the dark realms of climate change, and the flooded world. What would happen if the worst was realised and climate change was rapid? Would religions endure, evolve or die? Would governments survive as they are? Would we have war or peace?

Could it really become that bad, and I mean particularly the politics, the irresponsible money making concerns in the face of the environmental powers?
..in a slightly different context. They didn't have the science but for all the good it does us, will it matter? First I have to admit on being once involved in various forms of protest concerning our treatment of the Earth. Secondly, this being the first day after the Paris Climate Accord and the perennial itch for a good Conspiracy thriller I couldn't resist reading this after it mysteriously popped onto my web page <hummm> So although it may not be for everyone, it certainly massaged my needs. After too many years of conspicuous consumption I divested myself of most worldly possessions and headed for a cabin in the mountains. I began a long winded indictment of Mans disastrous footprint on this miraculous planet, befouling his nest, etc, but before I had reached a head of steam we had an epic ice storm that flattened 60% of the hardwood trees and put a huge swath of the North Country in dark for weeks. For me, it was the opening salvo for what has since become all to...
Oh dear. This book fell short of the mark by a great length for me. Two stars might be generous, but I do loathe having to give a one star review! The villains are vague. I can handle the "Them" for names, but they don't have depth. The characters are shallow. The plot is in 2027 there is a new religion in place. It is called The Delugion, and they are pretty messed up. Past that, I can't get to the plot through the messy characters and incoherent plot lines. This book left me feeling cold, not warm.
My copy came from Net Galley. I left this review because I wanted to, my thoughts and opinions are my own. I chose to post this.
